MG Astor Latest Updates : The 2025 MG Astor has been officially launched in India with a refreshed feature set and updated variant lineup. The SUV continues to be positioned as a strong competitor in the compact SUV segment, coming with prices starting around ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and available in five trims: Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro.    One of the big highlights of the new Astor is the addition of a panoramic sunroof on the mid-range Shine variant, making it one of the most affordable SUVs in its class to offer this feature under ₹12.5 lakh. The Select trim has also received important upgrades, including six airbags and premium ivory leatherette seats, which enhance both safety and comfort.

The SUV also integrates MG’s i-SMART connected car suite with over 80 connected features, including remote control via smartphone, vehicle status checks, and digital key functions that enhance convenience. 
 
In terms of safety, the Astor offers a comprehensive and advanced suite, giving strong peace of mind for families and daily commuters. It includes up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), traction control, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. What sets it apart is its Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) — a first in this category — with features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot detection, and rear cross-traffic alerts. These systems help prevent accidents and make highway and city driving more secure. 

Drowback

One of the most-reported issues with the MG Astor is its engine performance and fuel efficiency. Many owners and reviewers note that the petrol engines—especially the naturally aspirated 1.5-litre unit—feel underpowered and sluggish, particularly during overtaking or on highway runs, which can make driving less engaging than rivals in the same segment. Additionally, real-world fuel economy figures are often lower than expected, with many users reporting single-digit mileage in city conditions, which is disappointing for buyers focused on running costs. 
 
Another common drawback highlighted is the lack of key features and layout issues on some variants.
